Interesting take on healing in D&D

Was looking round forums and the like for new character ideas for a D&D campaign I'll be playing in and stumbled across this little gem, it is extremely well written and provides an interesting take on healing in D&D,
http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19871786/A_Players_Guide_to_Healing_%28And,_why_you_will_be_Just_Fine_without_a_Cleric_to_heal%29

The only real problem is that most of the stuff is from a variety of splat books, not the core books, so you don't have access to the more useful items.

I know there is the healer class, which is epic when it comes to healing and even better with a good feat selection. But not every group has someone that is going to want to play a class like that, plus in smaller groups it is alot easier to drop as there aren't as many distractions.

I'm going to try to get a few of the books mentioned, so they'll be available for group use Wink.
